It is probably the first industrial add-on cupboard and therefore the first system furniture ever. Developed in Cincinnati at the end of the 19th century, the furniture was patented in England in 1896 and manufactured there by the Shannon Registrar Co. In Germany, the registrator was manufactured and sold with great success from the 1920s onwards by the joineries of Gebrüder Aug. Zeiss & Co. in Berlin. Our current version is manufactured in a cabinetmaker's workshop in Württemberg.
