Dukkah

A home-cooked or baked gift from the kitchen is a very personal present. This nut and spice mix, packed airtight, is perfect as such. The wonderful aroma in the kitchen warms the heart as soon as the ingredients are made and carefully roasted. Traditionally, dukkah is enjoyed with flatbread and a good olive oil as a starter. However, the seasoning mix is also ideal for other uses in creative cuisine.

Ingredients for 140 g

50 g hazelnuts
50 g almonds
25 g sesame seeds

1 tsp black pepper
2 tsp coriander seeds
2 tsp cumin seeds

2 tsp fennel seeds
1 tsp flaked salt

The recipe

Toast the hazelnuts and almonds in a pan without oil and then finely chop. Roast the peppercorns, coriander, cumin and fennel seeds in a pan and then crush them in a mortar. Finally, toast the sesame seeds and mix with all the other ingredients together with the salt.

Leave the nut and spice mixture to cool and then fill into a storage jar.
