Circular fashion from Rifò
The fashion label Rifò was founded in 2017 by Niccolò Cipriani as a start-up in Prato, Tuscany, with the mission of counteracting overproduction in the clothing industry: with timeless, circular fashion that consists of a high proportion of high-quality recycled natural fibers. Rifò is the Tuscan inflection of the Italian verb "rifare", which means "to renew" or "to do again", and this is precisely the principle of the Italian label: to create something new from something old. The garments and accessories consist of at least 50 percent recycled natural fibers, plus a proportion of newly produced natural materials. The recycled fibers are obtained from pre-consumer textiles (waste from the textile industry) on the one hand and post-consumer textiles (used clothing donations) on the other. Rifò produces in the region in order to keep production routes as short as possible and to promote the local economy. The yarn and fabric suppliers with whom the fashion label works are mainly located in the textile district of Prato.
